Dillon Reservoir is a prime location for summer or winter fishing. The lake is home to Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon and Arctic Char. With 26 miles of shoreline, finding a nice secluded spot to cast is not a problem.  

As soon as the Dillon Reservoir begins to freeze the Town of Dillon becomes a mecca for ice fishing. A fishing charter is a great way to get introduced to ice fishing. Alpine Fishing Adventures, Big Ed's Fishing Ventures and Silver Flask Fishing all offer charters beginning mid-November. 

If you are looking to venture out on your own, remember that any person 15 years or older must have a valid fishing license. View the Colorado Parks & Wildlife Fishing Guide for info regarding getting or renewing your Fishing License, bag and possession limits, to check the essential gear guide and to get other helpful information.

Please do not drill holes within 15 feet of the multi-use track. 

 

Dillon and the surrounding areas offer a wonderful system of trails that can be utilized all year round. Whether you are an avid winter adventurer or just getting started there is something for everyone in Dillon.

The Town of Dillon operates and maintains a Community Ice Rink located on the shores of the Dillon Marina launch ramp. The rink is weather dependent and usually opens mid-January as ice conditions allow. Bring your own skates, hockey sticks and hot cocoa.
