As the snow recedes, a season’s worth of lost mittens, abandoned dog poop bags and misplaced treasures reveal themselves, making spring cleaning a necessity. The Towns of Blue River, Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco and Silverthorne are calling all volunteers to help Summit County prepare for summer with the Annual Countywide Town Cleanup Day, on Saturday, June 1.
Volunteer check in will be at 9 a.m. in each town. Dillon Town Hall will serve as the volunteer check-in location. During check-in, volunteers will receive trash bags, gloves, area assignments, coffee and morning treats. Bring your own coffee mug and water bottle to help further our zero waste efforts. Volunteers may also choose to pick a favorite area they feel needs attention, rather than receiving an assigned area. After a morning of spring cleaning, volunteers will be rewarded for their efforts with a zero waste “thank you” picnic.
Join us at the Marina Park Pavilion for a thank you BBQ with live music and beverages. BBQ begins at noon.
High County Conservation will also be hosting the Hard to Recycle Event at the bus barn in Frisco. From 8 a.m. to noon drop off electronics, prescription medications and more!
