Music Director Michael Stern and the National Repertory Orchestra bring a special twist to the annual FREE concert at Dillon Amphitheater!

Have you ever heard a tune that is so familiar but you don’t know the name of it? You may have heard it as the background under gripping dialogue, or the climax of an intense scene.

Most people would be surprised to find out how much “classical music” they already know. From cartoons and cult films to blockbuster movie hits, many TV and movie soundtracks include classical music as well as original music. In this concert, you will hear familiar works from iconic films like Disney’s Fantasia, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Platoon, Trading Places, Runaway Bride, and more. Come and let your mind’s eye reminisce to all those great scenes the music was set to.

Michael Stern, conductor
Natalie Koh, violin
Kate MacKenzie, viola
