AGENDA

 

  1. Approval of the minutes of the August 31, 2022 regular meeting.

     

  2. Discussion and Study Topics:
  • Town Connectivity:
    • Connections to Marina Park and Town Park
    • Connections to the Dillon Ridge Marketplace
    • Areas needing sidewalks or other connections
  • Walkability:
  • Park Signage. Branded signage for all parks including Disc Golf, Nature Preserve, Cemetery, Recreation Path, Marina Park, and Town Park.
    • Amphitheater has its own Branding.
    • Consistent messaging, appearance (Fonts, Colors, etc.), and design elements
    • Consider sign hierarchy:
      • Park Identifier; Rules, Regulations, and Policies; and Directional / Wayfinding Signs
      • Monument Signs, Archways, Kiosks, Signs with Stone Bases, and Pole Mounted Signs
    • Town is looking at obtaining Technical Assistance from the University of Colorado Denver administered Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) grant program for developing Wayfinding and Parks Sign design guidelines in hopes of developing a toolbox of various sign designs that the Town may consider for installation.
  • Parks Master Plan Review.
    • 2007 Parks and Recreation Master Plan
    • Community Survey: develop topics and questions
    • Town will issue an RFP for a Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan in 2023 and has budgeted $50,000 for the project.
  • Recreation Programming:
    • Tie to businesses when possible.
    • Sponsorships
  • Comprehensive Plan:
    • Reference Parks Master Plan
    • Add a Recreation and Tourism Section
    • Expand Landscaping and Utility refences with water conservation, native species, and highlight the need for source water protection
  • Entrance Landscaping:
    • Cemetery, West Entrance, Front Entrance/Round-a-bout
    • Recreation Path Town of Dillon Entry Signs and Landscaping
  • Art & Culture:
    • Public Art - Develop policy and guidelines in cooperation with P&Z and Town Council.
    • Dillon Artist Guild?
  • Future joint meetings? Quarterly?
    • Future joint discussion and study topics
