The Towns of Blue River, Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, and Silverthorne are calling for volunteers to help clean up Summit County before summer. As the snow recedes, a season’s worth of lost mittens, abandoned dog poop bags and misplaced treasures reveal themselves, making spring cleaning a necessity. This year’s cleanup will take place May 9-17 to allow for plenty of time and space for proper social distancing.
Cleanup supplies can be picked up May 9-17 from Dillon Town Hall, or personal supplies can be used if preferred. Volunteers are encouraged to pick a favorite area near their home that needs attention rather than receiving an assigned area. Filled trash bags (50lbs or less) should be placed visibly near the side of the road.
After filling their trash bags, community members can post a photo of their Town Clean Up experience on Instagram by May 17 for a chance to win gift cards from local businesses. One photo entry per person. Winners will be notified by each Town after the contest has closed.
