Enjoy a variety of programs for kids of all ages each Saturday at the Marina Park Pavilion by the Amphitheatre in Dillon unless otherwise noted in the program description. June 18 Wild Flower Walk, Dillon Nature Preserve – location TBD – Join local wildflower expert Pat Taylor and discover the beauty of alpine wildflowers. in the Dillon Nature Preserve upper trail. Meet at the Nature Preserve trailhead parking at 9:30am lot off of Highway 6 across from the Dillon Cemetery.
July 2 Tales from Beyond – A Perspective on the Dillon Cemetery, Tim Finley Join local Tim Finley and Summit Historical Society’s Linda Kelly explore the stories of the pioneers who rest at the Dillon Cemetery. Meet at the Dillon Cemetery lot off of Highway 6 at 10.00am.
July 9 Science, Adventure, Fun: Campfire Showcase Do you wish sometime you could go back to camp? Fireflies, campfires, songs, and S'MORES? The Keystone Science School Summer Camp staff proudly presents a summer camp showcase, that features on stage songs and skits that focus on Science, Adventure, and Fun. Learn, get excited, stomp your feet, clap your hands, and sing along with your entire family! Features s'mores and lots of audience participation. Presented by the Keystone Science School.
July 9 Nature Preserve Hike Join locals (add names from FOL) for an easy paced hike through the Dillon Nature Preserve. Meet at the Nature Preserve parking area across from the Dillon Cemetery off of Highway 6 by 9:45 am.

July 23 Tenderfoot Trail Hike Join locals Mary & Tim Forsythe for a 2 mile hike along one of Summit County’s most scenic trails, the Tenderfoot Trail. Meet at Marina Park at 9:30 am and then follow Tim (in your car) to the Tenderfoot Trailhead parking.
July 23 The Secrets of Mountain Rescue Dan Burnett will let you know what the real fun of Mountain Rescue is. The Summit County Rescue Group’s primary rescue truck will be displayed along with the equipment that makes exceptional rescues possible. The hour should be interesting for kids and adults from the vantage of mistakes you will not make once you hear the stories of actual rescues. The stories are told with humor and lessons learned by all emphasized. You can’t believe the ridiculous things people say when you get out of a helicopter to rescue them.

August 13 Let’s Go Fly a Kite, Point Dillon Lawn, 12:30 pm Dig out your kites ( or buy a new one) and join local Bill Marvin for an afternoon of kite flying. Bill collection of kites will amaze the kid within all of us.

August 13 WILD! Naturalist Sarah Slaton will discuss the wildlife of Summit County. Come and learn about what type of critters roam your backyard, see pelts and antlers up close, and discover how you can positively impact the wildlife in Summit County. Presented by Friends of the Dillon Ranger District.
