From the Helm- April 2017
Well, we are now starting to get serious. All new crew members for the 2017 season have been interviewed and hired. Welcome aboard new crew members! The management team will be starting next Monday, April 17th, so that means we'll be getting started on more marina projects and customer work orders. So, be sure to get those work orders submitted sooner than later.
Reservoir levels are heading down as the Blue River Basin snow pack is above 100% snow pack, so Denver Water is making room for the spring runoff. The current level is 9003.45' or 13.55' down. Stay updated on the current levels here:
Some other projects and updates:
-The launch ramp will be cleaned of sand and dirt as the water levels continue to go down.
- I will be attending a week long Evinrude Outboard Motor certification class in Sturtevant Wisconsin from April 24th-28th to maintain our Evinrude/Johnson Service only dealership.
- Philip Mancuso (our new mechanic) attended a two day diesel maintenance course this past month.
- Jenn Fortin, Dick Roy and Jeff Brauch (new members of our sailing team) completed a sailing instructor's course at in Denver this past weekend.
-The kayak and hobie beach is in the beginning stages of a makeover (more news on that as the project progresses).
Lastly, some of you may know Mark LaFlamme, a long time/part time mechanic here at the marina, as well as the head of snow-making operations for Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort. Mark and his family will be leaving the snowy peaks of Colorado for the sandy shores of Delaware in the next few weeks and he is going to be greatly missed by us all! We thank him for all of his hard work, dedication and friendship, and for keeping not only our rental fleet, but your boats in ship shape all these years!
