Boating Guidelines and Restrictions
Boaters are required to observe the SUmmit County and Colorado Boating Statutes and Regulations. A complete listing is available at www.parks.state.co.us.
- Water contact, including swimming, scuba diving, water skiing and other water contact related activities are prohibited at the Recreation Area.
- It is unlawful for any boat or vessel to travel at speeds in excess of 30 mph at any time under any circumstance, excluding law enforcement and emergency response operations.
- Hovercraft and personal watercraft are prohibited on Lake Dillon Reservoir. Other vessels equipped with an above transom exhaust are also not allowed on the reservoir.
- All campfires of any nature are limited to locations where fireplace grills or fire rings have been provided. Never leave a campfire unattended. - Please properly dispose of all litter, wastewater and fish entrails.
- Motorized vehicles, including automobiles and motorcycles must remain on designated roadways and must be licensed. Self-propelled weelchairs used for the transportation of mobility impaired individuals are allowed on ramps, paths and roadways.
- Keep pets under control at all times! Properly clean up after your pets and keep them on a leash in compliance with local animal regulations.
- Trespassing is not allowed on any dam structure, spillway, facility building or other closed areas.

Event permits through the Dillon Reservoir Recreation Area Committee (DRReC) are required for all special events, tours and commercial activities conductedwithin the Recrteation Area and that involve more than 25 people. Call (970) 668-4060 for information and permit applications.
