Dillon Parks Information 2010
The following describes the various parks and facilities in the Town of Dillon. A short video is available here: Watch Video.
A Park Reservation Form is required. In some case a Special Use Permit may be required (for organized fund raisers such as walks and bike rides). You can download the SUP here.
Crow’s Nest Deck**
The Crow’s Nest is the decked, canvas-roofed structure located on the east corner of Marina Park and Marina Drive on the waterfront. The Dillon Marina and Marina Park are adjacent to the Crow’s Nest. Parking is available in the Marina Park parking lot above the Crow’s Nest and adjacent to the park and the Amphitheatre. Vehicles are not allowed in the small driveway east of the Crow’s Nest, this is privately leased and your vehicle will be towed. Unloading along Marina Drive is strictly prohibited.
Crow’s Nest Facilities include:
- Partially covered deck (seating for 100 people)
- Charcoal Grill
- Picnic Tables
- Small Playground
- Electrical Outlets
- Public Restroom Facilities
- Potable Water
Marina Park Pavilion**
Located on Lodgepole Street at the end of Lake Dillon Drive on the waterfront. The Dillon Marina and the Lake Dillon Amphitheatre are adjacent to the park. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the park. Vehicles are not allowed in the park itself and are subject to ticketing and towing. Marina Park does NOT include the decked, canvas-roofed structure called the Crow’s Nest.
Marina Park facilities include:
- Covered pavilion with picnic tables (seating for 80-90 people)
- Small Playground
- Large Charcoal Grill
- Electrical Outlets
- Potable Water
- Small Charcoal Grills
- ADA Restroom Facilities
Dillon Town Park Pavilion**
Located behind Town Hall and the Summit Historical Museum on Buffalo Street. Reservations can be made for the youth ball field, which is adjacent to the park. Parking is available in the Town Hall parking lot and also on Buffalo Street. Vehicles are not allowed in the park itself and are subject to ticketing and towing.
Town Park facilities include:
- Covered pavilion with picnic tables (seating for 40-50 people)
- Playground
- ADA Restroom Facilities
- Electrical Outlets
- Potable Water
- Volleyball Pit (Ball Not Provided)
- Outdoor Basketball Court
- Large Charcoal Grill
- Horseshoe Pits (Shoes Not Provided)
Point Dillon Park & Lawn
Located on West Lodgepole Street in front of Lake Dillon Condominiums, overlooking the north end of Dillon Reservoir. Reservations can be made for private use of the public land/park and lawn areas. Please be aware that by reserving the right to use this area, public activities may occur nearby. Parking is available on a limited basis in the public parking lot adjacent to the park. Vehicles are not allowed in the park or easements and are subject to ticketing and towing.
Do not use parking lots at or block the driveways of Lake Dillon Condominiums unless authorized to do so by the condominium management company.
Lake Dillon Condominiums are privately owned, and the residents of the said condominiums are NOT to be disturbed nor expected to open their property for use of facilities. Public restrooms and electricity are NOT available at the Point Dillon Park.
Only full-day rentals are accepted for Point Dillon Park. Tents may be used at Point Dillon Park and lawn area, and may be as large as 40X40 (40x40 size must use sand bags, not stakes); larger tents must have prior approval. Tents should be located on the east side end of the lawn area near West Lodgepole Street, and should never be placed on the west side of the condominiums obstructing their views unless special arrangements and approvals have been made with the condominium management company. Please note Point Dillon Park and Lawn areas do experience exposed, mountain weather conditions. This area can hold up to 250 people depending on configuration. Leave No Trace applies at all times.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
- The Permittee shall take all reasonable precautions to prevent and suppress forest fires. No material shall be disposed of by burning in fires. The Town of Dillon strictly prohibits open-air fires.
- In case of change of address, the Permittee shall immediately notify the Town’s offices at (970) 468-2403, who oversees the park permits.
- Alcohol may be consumed in Town parks, and all state liquor laws shall apply.
- Alcohol cannot be given or sold to anyone under the age of 21.
- No alcohol may be sold without issuance of a Special Events Permit by the Town of Dillon and State of Colorado.
- No signs or advertising devices shall be erected or posted on the area covered by this permit, or roads/highways leading thereto.
- If you plan to use a catering company for your event at the Pavilions, please have the catering company contact the Town Hall so that the caterers understand park regulations as well.
- The Town of Dillon adheres to Leave No Trace for all our Parks.
- Payment of the permit fee must be made prior to commencing with operations under the terms of this permit.
- Fees shall be made payable to the Town of Dillon, and returned with the appropriate permit form to Park Reservations, Town of Dillon, P.O. Box 8, Dillon, CO 80435 or in person at the Dillon Town Hall located at 275 Lake Dillon Drive in Dillon.
- Reservation Confirmation and Town of Dillon receipt must be present and available at the event for proof of rental.
Parks are open from sunrise until one hour after sunset.
**Specially noted Parks can be rented in half-day increments: 9am – 2pm and 3pm - 8pm
