Arbor Day/Clean-Up Day Celebration, Saturday, May 22
Dillon Town Park. 9:00am clean-up start time followed by volunteer picnic at noon.
Come join us as we spruce up the town to make way for the sunny days of spring and summer. Arbor Day festivities will follow at the volunteer picnic.
Town Weed Pulls, Saturdays, May 22, June 12, July 10, 9:00 am

Join us and help eradicate the invasives! In other words, help us pull the weeds in Dillon!
Volunteers should dress for a day outdoors and bring the following: water/snacks, sunglasses, work gloves, sun hat, long pants, rain gear, long sleeved shirt, sturdy boots, sunscreen, insect repellent and a smile!
Memorial Day Service, Monday, May 31, 10:00am
Dillon Cemetery. Family, friends and neighbors gather to pay tribute to those who have served and gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Presented by Dillon’s Cemetery Advisory Committee in cooperation with Dillon’s Military Recognition Advisory Committee.
Country Dancing, Thursdays, June 3, 10, 17, 24 6:00pm
Dillon Amphitheatre. Join dance instructor Mike “Tex” DeGarie for dancing your favorite country dances on Thursday nights in June. Don’t know how to country dance? No worries, the first half hour of instruction will feature the basics followed by open dancing until 8:00pm on the Amphitheatre stage. Free and open to all ages.
Friday Farmers Markets, June 11 – September 3, 9:00am – 2:00pm
(No market on August 6th). Buffalo Street, Downtown Dillon. Enjoy the harvests at one of the best farmers markets in the high country.
Note: Selected growers and vendors may extend their selling season starting September 10 at the Marina Park parking lot located on Lodgepole near the Dillon Marina. Markets may continue through September 24, weather permitting.

June 26 The Secrets of Mountain Rescue
Dan Burnett will let you know what the real fun of Mountain Rescue is.
The Summit County Rescue Group’s primary rescue truck will be displayed along with the equipment that makes exceptional rescues possible. The hour should be interesting for kids and adults from the vantage of mistakes you will not make once you hear the stories of actual rescues. The stories are told with humor and lessons learned by all emphasized. You can’t believe the ridiculous things people say when you get out of a helicopter to rescue them.

Join local wildflower expert Pat Taylor and discover the beauty of alpine wildflowers in the Dillon Nature Preserve. Meet at the Nature Preserve trailhead parking lot off of Highway 6 across from the Dillon Cemetery.

Join local Tim Forsythe for a 2 mile hike along one of Summit County’s most scenic trails, the Tenderfoot Trail. Meet at Marina Park and then follow Tim (in your car) to the Tenderfoot Trailhead parking.
August 7 The Big Battle of the Little Beetle
Naturalist Christiane Hinterman will discuss how the pine beetle belongs in this ecosystem and reasons they may have grown out of control, how something so small can make such a big impact and what the future holds for humans and the beetles. Presented by the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District.
August 14 Nature Preserve Hike
Join local Tim Forsythe for an easy paced hike through the Dillon Nature Preserve. Meet at the Nature Preserve parking area across from the Dillon Cemetery off of Highway 6.
East Coast Swing/ Jitterbug, Thursdays, July 8, 15, 22, 29, August 5, 12 6:00pm
Dillon Amphitheatre. Join dance instructors James & Lisa Rode for open dancing the East Coast Swing (Jitterbug) on selected Thursday evenings at the Amphitheatre from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Don’t know how to Jitterbug? No worries, the first half hour is dedicated to teaching the basics to beginners! Free and open to all ages.
“Never Forget Our Soldiers” – An Evening of Tribute, Friday, July 2, 4:00pm
Dillon Amphitheatre. Don’t miss this evening of local music followed by a special tribute to our service men and women. A concert by the Air Force Academy Band will follow our tribute. The evening will end with an amazing fireworks show over Lake Dillon, choreographed to music!
4th of July Celebration, Sunday, July 4
Enjoy music starting with the National Repertory Orchestra in the morning followed by old fashioned 4th of July events starting at noon at Town Park with music by DooWop Denny, children’s bike parade, a BOCCE tournament, pie eating contests, watermelon eating contests and more followed by Dillon’s boat parade on the shores of Lake Dillon. Top off the evening at the Amphitheatre with a concert featuring the Walker Williams Band and evening fireworks displayed over Frisco Bay.
